Kathleen Rake is one lucky oenophile. As a perpetual student of wine, she’s managed to marry her decades-long love affair with wine to her craft—writing. Kathleen is happy to swirl, sniff, sip and spit her way through all sorts of vinic pleasures so she can share those experiences with her readers at both her blog, www.BetweenTheVines.ca, and her monthly column, ‘Wine Trends’, in the Abbotsford News.

Kathleen holds the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines & Spirits and is currently working toward achieving the WSET Diploma and her French Wine Scholar (FWS) designation.

Deb Mohabir

Deb Mohabir.- Beer Educator
Just here for The Beer

Deb has been with Just Here For The Beer from the very beginning in a variety of capacities – assisting with the events and eventually leading some of the guest speaking seminars. She has developed her palate with her visits out east to Toronto and down into the southern United States where she has sampled a few local micros. Deb brings an often overlooked point of view, that of the educated female consumer.

Working fulltime as a Special Needs Worker for the Vancouver School board, her ability to communicate with the most inexperienced beer drinker all the way to the experienced beer connoisseur helps expand the craft beer discussion. Deb has become an incredible asset to Just Here For The Beer, and can always be found at any of their events in the lower mainland.
