Featured Business: Driving Miss Daisy
Seniors who live in the Chilliwack area now have alternatives. Driving Miss Daisy is a senior’s service that provides accompaniment and assistance with safe, reliable and properly insured transportation.
But Driving Miss Daisy is much, much more.
Personalized Service
Seniors and those with disabilities have much greater needs than simply having a vehicle available and someone to drive it. Driving Miss Daisy provides personalized service for seniors and those with disabilities.
For seniors with mobility issues, even a quick trip to the grocery store can be a daunting challenge.
Managing to get to medical appointments or more complicated situations such as day surgery or trips to the dialysis clinic can be a true nightmare for seniors unable to rely on anything but a
taxicab to get around.
We take that worry and fear away from them in order to give them a feeling of security. We accompany them to wherever they need to go within the Lower Mainland.
Kim Jackson recently purchased the Chilliwack Driving Miss Daisy franchise in January of 2012, as she was driven to the idea by a need to make a difference in people’s lives.
Some Comments From Kim’s Clients
.
Helping Families Make A Difference
Jackson believes that “seniors are too often treated as though they are a bother or an inconvenience. In many cases, family and friends simply don’t have the time, or they find themselves living too far away to make a daily difference.”
Jackson realizes that many families are more than willing to help, but the commitments required of them just to make ends meet in today’s busy and demanding life, leave seniors feeling like a burden.
The pride and self-reliance of many seniors begin to diminish and disappear as circumstances beyond their control make so many things impossible – things they used to take for granted.
Driving Miss Daisy is an award-winning corporation which was founded in Alberta in January 2002.
Since then, the company has become the leader in non-medical senior’s services including assistance and accompaniment, along with transportation for seniors and those with disabilities.
The company has expanded operations into BC, Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Driving Miss Daisy has a simple mandate – to provide spouses, caregivers and adult children an avenue of respite in the caring of their loved ones, and to be fiercely loyal and dedicated to our clients.
Our Vision is “To give unlimited opportunity to seniors and those with disabilities to preserve their independence and prevent social isolation”.
Some Of Our Services Include:
.
Improving Quality Of Life
Our service improves the quality of life for seniors and those with disabilities. We listen carefully to the challenges that each client faces and meet those needs on an individual basis. We will be the eyes for those with compromised vision, the feet for those with limited mobility, and the steady arm to support the weak.
